Executive Director for an Independent, Assisted Living and Memory Care Senior Living Community

Job Summary:

  • Best candidate will come with multi-level senior housing experience of at least 3 years.

  • Prior remodel or construction projects in a Senior Living Community preferred.

  • Responsible for daily operations in all department of the community with the luxury of an autonomous approach to community leadership and flexibility with staff, scheduling, etc. Regional and corporate support, not mandates.

  • Ensure compliance with federal and state laws and regulations as well as the Company’s policies and procedures.

  • Responsible for controlling net capital expenditures and ensuring compliance with net operating and capital budgets.

  • Responsible for achieving community revenue and census goals.

  • Supervise all departments to ensure that all established policies and procedures are followed.

  • Facilitate positive verbal communication with key family members.

  • Attend in-services and/or seminars to keep current with regulatory requirements and state-of the-art assisted living and memory care practices.

  • Champion the hiring for the community. Responsible for interviewing and hiring department managers.

  • Champion hospitality and deliver excellent customer service to residents, families, visitors and vendors.

  • Lead and participate in team meetings.

  • The right candidate must be nurturing with employees, residents and families and be passionate about supporting, inspiring and leading the team towards excellence and outside-the-box thinking every day.

Job Requirements:

  • Must have a Bachelor's Degree in related field.
  • Must have 7-10 years of experience in the Senior Housing Industry, prefer multi-level campus experience.
  • HIGH degree of preference for multiple years' Independent Living leadership experience.
  • BEST candidate will have longevity of at least 3 years' experience in most positions.
  • Prior experience managing multiple departments and deadlines.
  • Ability to pass drug test and criminal background.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with seniors in a health care environment.
  • Current Oregon Assisted Living Administrator certificate or ability to obtain quickly.
  • In-depth knowledge of budgets; creating, managing and compliance.
  • In-depth knowledge and ability to meet state regulations, health laws and OSHA regulations.
  • Strong management and supervising experience, including hiring, training and coaching and counseling.
  • Strong ability to organize, plan, coordinate and execute the operations of the community including strategic planning, resource allocation, leadership, and coaching techniques.
  • Demonstrated ability to actively foster and cultivate a team.
  • Must be able to exhibit strong business judgment and have strong interpersonal, conflict resolution, analytical, problem solving and organizational skills.
